About Meadowlands and Crestview
Crestview and its neighbouring community of Meadowlands is surrounded by lush, mature trees and foliage. It's in the west of Ottawa, south of Meadowlands Drive, west of Merivale Road, north of the CN Rail tracks and east of Woodroffe Avenue. Popular in the '50s and '60s, most of the homes in the area are bungalows.
It has Short routes to schools with transit that takes students to Algonquin College, Carleton University and the University of Ottawa.
Local schools include Meadowlands Public School, St. Gregory's Catholic School, and Abraar Elementary School; Sir Winston Churchill and Frank Ryan Catholic Schools in Parkwood Hills, and Merivale High School and St. Pius X Catholic High School.
Parks include: Donland, Olmstead, Oakview, Bob Mitchell (including tennis court), and Crestview.
Tourist attractions in the area include the Central Experimental Farm, the lively GreekFest (currently virtual), Tim Horton's Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival, and Hope Volleyball SummerFest at Mooney's Bay Beach.
The Nepean Sportsplex provides loads of recreational opportunities as a multi-purpose facility at Hunt Club and Woodroffe, home to soccer fields, baseball diamonds, hockey arenas, outdoor rinks, family pool, children's wading pool, curling centre, weight room and fitness centre, squash courts, banquet rooms, and the list goes on.
Shopping in the area includes shops along Merivale Road and Meadowlands Drive. Merivale Mall (indoor), built in 1977 and recently renovated, is only a short drive away and includes Shoppers Drug Mart, Marshalls, Pizza Pizza, Subway, Farm Boy, Sport Chek, Planet Fitness, eye and dental clinics, to name a few.
