About Central Park

Central Park was a fairly new, developing neighbourhood in the early 2000s as you can see with only 14 home sales in 2000. This quickly increased up to an average of around 74 annual sales since 2006. In 2021, with 65 homes sales, the average price has tripled since its development to $619,786.

Central Park is located in the West End of Ottawa and has some older homes as well as a newer development that was built around 2000. You can pick up a less expensive, older townhouse, or a large newer single family home over $700,000. Central Park is a bit of an oddity in a good way. It's considered newer construction for that part of Ottawa. It's got the Experimental Farm to it's south and east with a paved bike trail that runs to the west or right downtown to the Château Laurier.

Central Park is a great location for transit and shopping. The Queensway is a few minutes away north via Maitland Avenue. There's an abundance of shopping malls and specialty stores all along Merivale Road and the newer SmartCentres Ottawa Southwest at Baseline Road and Clyde Avenue with its 24 stores, restaurants and services.

Central Park has a very active Community Association, making every effort to provide social events for its residents as well as opportunities to beautify and maintain the surroundings. Its streets are relatively quiet and no through traffic. They organize Spring and Fall clean-ups as part of the City of Ottawa's "clean up the capital" event, and an annual garage sale to bring the community together.

Central Park's Celebration Park boasts a soccer pitch, play structure, tennis court, pond, ice rink and walking trails.

Public transit is available to take residents to downtown, Ottawa University, Carleton University, Algonquin College, The Canal, Experimental Farm, Westboro, Little Italy, Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway to name a few.
