When you make an offer to purchase a home or condominium, you'll most likely make the offer conditional upon having the property inspected by a Qualified Home Inspector. We highly recommend that you do.
For a smaller condo it would cost around $500-$600 and you get a professional opinion on all of the major elements of the home, like electrical, plumbing, furnace, hot water tank, foundation, roof and much more. You get a written report and maintenance schedule to keep and refer to.
For a standard size house the cost for the inspections would be around $750 - $850.

Inspectors with RHI Membership. This is the highest level of accreditation. These Inspectors have achieved the highest level of educational requirements as set by the association and performed a predetermined number of paid inspections. They must also complete annual educational updates in order to maintain this designation.

Another class of inspectors are Inspectors with Associate Membership. Associate Members have finished the mandatory educational requirements of becoming a registered Inspector, however have not yet finished the required number of paid inspections.
