Chapman Mills is a community within Barrhaven that offers a unique balance between rural and urban life. It is located west of the Rideau River, east of Woodroffe Avenue and south of Havenlea and Rideaucrest neighbourhoods.
Chapman Mills is just a short drive from major shopping centres, easily accessed from Highway 416 as well as first class recreational facilities including the Walter Baker Centre and the Nepean Sportsplex.
This neighbourhood is also home to a number of parks- from soccer, footbal and baseball fields to Chapman Conservation Park which contains picnic tables (with and without shelters) and public washrooms. Some of the many attractions of this area are fishing, lookouts, and 1.5 kms of walkways and boardwalks through this natural habitat.
About Davidson Heights & Havenlea, Barrhaven
There are a number of parks in the neighbourhood that feature walking paths 5 to 10 minute car ride will take you to the Fallowfield bus station where you can travel to different parts of city. There’s also the Barrhaven VIA RAIL train station.
Just around 5 minutes away is the Chapman Mills marketplace where residents have access to amenities like groceries, shopping, restaurants and a 7 screen Cineplex movie theatre.
Havenlea is a family-oriented neighbourhood that is comprised mostly of residential homes built after 1990. There is a combination of detached and row unit homes available in both more affordable and high end price ranges. Winding Way in particular is known for its higher end, waterfront homes.
There are not many businesses operating in Havenlea but it is close to the many shops and services such as the Barrhaven Town Centre Complex offered in nearby neighbourhoods.
