About Pineview and Cyrville
Founded as the Village of Cyrville in 1953, you'll find it from Innes Road in the south to Ogilvie Road in the north and St. Laurent Blvd. in the west to Cummings Avenue in the east. This area is sometimes referred to as Cummings. It's located in the former City of Gloucester and is bounded on the west, north and south by the old Gloucestor City limit and the East by the Aviation Parkway and the Queensway.
According to the 2011 Canada Census it has a population of 4,611. In 1871, the Notre-Dames-de-Lourdes-de-Cyrville church was built reflecting its French Catholic founders. It closed in 2009 and is now a Chinese Catholic Church.
Pineview was formerly a part of the City of Gloucestor within the bounds of the Queensway to the north, Innes Road to the south, Highway 417 to the west and the Greenbelt on the east. Its bordering neighbourhoods include Beacon Hill, Carson Grove, Blackburn Hamlet and Cyrville. It’s a well protected natural environment.
Sales in these areas are currently at almost the highest number sitting at 156 homes in 2021 as compared to 112 in 2000. The average price has quadrupled since to 2000 with an average purchase price of $463,471, up almost 26% since the same time in 2020.
A family-oriented neighbourhood, the homes are predominantly single family with a mix of detached, semi-detached, freehold and condominium townhomes.
There are two schools: John Paul II Elementary and École élémentaire catholique des Pins, with many more in the surrounding neighbourhoods.
The Pineview Golf Course along Blair Road to the east, has been in operation since 1961. It's been under new ownership since 2014 and is one of Ottawa's premiere attractions. With the construction of a driving range and practice facility in 2020 and the addition of golf simulators, patrons can enjoy golf year-round.
The Blair LRT Station is a busy hub connecting residents to parks and outdoor recreation and to the rest of the city. Only a five minute walk away are Gloucester Shopping Centre, Scotiabank Theatre Ottawa (formerly called SilverCity Gloucester), a multi-use pathway, Pineview Golf Course and various government headquarters. A large number of shops can be found along the length of Innes Road.
